54 Styles
Mixta is a contemporary serif typeface designed by Rodrigo Fuenzalida and published by Latinotype in 2020. Its idea is in the name: the Mixta font mixes different kinds of terminals, from Didone to transitional and modern, so a single family can move from classic to modern without losing its voice. With 54 styles, Cyrillic support and small caps, it is built for branding, editorial design and advertising, and this page is its official home.
About Mixta Font
Mixta is a serif typeface designed by Rodrigo Fuenzalida and published in 2020 by Latinotype, an independent type foundry from Chile. It started from a simple idea: combining different types of terminals within the same letters to give text a singular appearance.
The Mixta font brings together Didone, transitional and modern serif traits in a seamless way. The italics are shared across the system, so styles can be combined freely in the same layout. With more than 1,200 glyphs in its largest styles, small caps, several sets of figures and a wide range of alternates, Mixta is equally at home in a fashion headline, a book cover, a brand identity or a social media campaign.
Styles & Weights
The Mixta font family includes 54 styles organized in five subfamilies that share nine weights, from Hair, Thin and UltraLight through Light, Regular and Medium to Bold, Black and Heavy.
Mixta Pro is the core of the system and includes the italics, for 18 styles. Mixta Didone pushes contrast toward the fashion and editorial serif, while Mixta Sharp introduces pointed, cut terminals for a sharper voice. Mixta Didone Alt and Mixta Sharp Alt redraw many letters with alternate characters, for a different texture in display settings.
Use the type tester above to compare Mixta Pro, Mixta Didone and Mixta Sharp in every weight.
Mixta Font Pairing
Mixta has a lot of character, so it pairs best with a quiet sans serif. Within the Latinotype catalog, Basic Sans or Texta can carry body text, captions and interfaces while Mixta takes headlines, covers and logos.
Inside the family, mixing is the point: a Mixta Didone Heavy headline with Mixta Pro Regular text, or Mixta Sharp in short display lines, keeps a coherent voice with plenty of contrast. For a lighter option, see Mixta Essential.
Language Support
Mixta supports more than 200 Latin based languages, and every style also includes Cyrillic characters.
Each style includes between 624 and 1,387 glyphs, with Mixta Pro offering the widest set. OpenType features include small caps, several sets of figures, ligatures, fractions and a wide range of stylistic alternates.
